Our 2019 events were rapidly fully booked last year and had to be capped due to limited bookable spaces available. In order not to disappoint members this year we have reverted tohigher capacity venues. Our 2020 event dates have been based on suitable tidal crossing times and a compromise between daylight hours, avoiding peak times on the Broads, and of course our long range weather forecasting technique (- fingers crossed for dry, warm, sunnny days for both events once again!).
Nearer to the actual event dates we may try to coordinate a CIC to each event e.g Sat am rendezvous at Malthouse Broad (Northern Event) or a Sat am rolling pick up/rendezvous of boats at specific way points heading towards Beccles( Southern Event) - providing of course that our dates do not clash with major Horning or Beccles Sailing club activity!!
Crossing Breydon Water is normally quite straightforward but can be a bit daunting you have not ventured to do it before. As usual, we will coordinate and communicate departure days/times to assist new or inexperienced members with Breydon Crossings, and to facilitate crossing in company where possible for added confidence.
Important (please read carefully): Due to newly introduced group booking arrangements at Salhouse Broad we are required to prebook and prepay for a block of reserved mooring spaces (Mooring 2 - the grasy knoll area) in advance, as a whole or multiple quarter sections of the mooring area (1, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 etc). We have currently prebooked the whole mooring enabling up to 24 Safaris to attend. We will adjust the reservation downwards as we continue to approach the scheduled date if our registration numbers do not reach the relevant cut off levels per quarter section, so please register as early as possible to guarantee a place and avoid disappointment.
Due to the advance payments required, the mooring fee is payable when you register for the Salhouse Event. The final mooring fee may vary a little depending on how many boats fill the reserved quarter section mooring space. The final mooring fee will be between £10-£12 and any (£1/50p) refunds due will be paid on the event day (in cash). Any fees paid will be fully refundable up to 1 month before the scheduled event (22nd May) but late cancellations after this date or "no shows on the day" will not normally be refunded (unless the relevant fees are waived by the venue).
