2024 Beccles Meet

Events > 2024 Events
Our autumn event on the Southern Broads reflects the lower numbers of Safaris moored on that side of the system and this year we had a total of 12 boats registered for the Beccles event on 14th September.

Due to a fall while shopping resulting in a broken hip for Elaine, our regular attendees on Minnow (Elaine and Robert) were unable to attend after all. The group wish Elaine a speedy and full recovery and we hope to see you back again next year!

11 Safari's moored side by side in the marina still looked quite impressive and we attracted a bit of attention and interest from casual passers by as well as some new Safari owners who had dropped by on the day.

Shortly after the Salhouse Meet in June, Lanson owned by Keith (an original from the 2010 club reformation) was sold and subsequently acquired by Ted (another club regular formerly the owner of Safari Mk4 Wild Thyme) and we were able to welcome him back as a Safari owner after undergoing surgery after the end of the 2023 season.

We were fortunate once again in finding a weather window over the weekend that stayed dry and pleasant, enabling crews to gather, chat and pass the time outside in informal groups. We were well looked after as usual by Martin and his Harbour Master team over the weekend too.
